Amid Israeli war on Gaza, Iran blocks IAEA nuclear inspectors
WSWS
:
On Wednesday, IAEA officials complained that Iran was refusing to certify several of its inspectors, including French and German citizens, while continuing to produce highly enriched uranium. The Iranian government withdrew the inspectors’ accreditation as retaliation for what it called “political abuses” by the US, British, French and German governments.

The Occupied West Bank: The Other Front
Al Jazeera
: Since Israel began its bombardment of the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, violence has also surged in the occupied West Bank to unprecedented levels. More than 2,000 Palestinians have been arrested and almost 200 have been killed in the last month alone. Scores more have been arrested, beaten and tortured, fueling concerns that this could erupt into a second front as Israel pushes on in their stated objective to access and control Palestinian territory.

'Israel is a Terrorist State': Turkish President Erdogan
Telesure; "I openly say that Israel is a terrorist state. Others say that Hamas is a terrorist organization. Hamas participated in the elections and won in Palestine. Israel and the United States stole their rights afterwards," the Turkish leader said at a parliamentary group meeting of his ruling Justice and Development Party in Ankara. He accused Israel of breaking the first rule of the laws of war, under which children, women, the elderly and the sick should not be harmed. Read More

Biden: Israel’s Gaza operation will end when Hamas no longer able to murder Israelis
Times of Israel:  In a televised press conference following his long-anticipated meeting with China’s Xi Jinping, US President Joe Biden said Israel’s operation in Gaza, following the shock Hamas massacres in southern Israeli communities last month, “will end when Hamas no longer maintains the capacity to murder, abuse, and do horrific things to the Israelis.” Read More

Why the US needs this war in Gaza?
By Pepe Escobar
:
The Roar of the Street is getting louder – demanding that the Biden administration, now seen as complicit with Tel Aviv, halt the Israeli genocide that may lead to a World War. But Washington will not comply. Wars in Europe and West Asia may be its last chance (it will lose) to subvert the emergence of a prosperous, connected, peaceful Eurasia Century. Read More

Israel drops leaflets warning civilians of wider attacks in S. Gaza
Daily Sabah
: I
srael, signaling a possible expansion of operations in Gaza's south, dropped leaflets warning Palestinians to flee, residents reported Thursday, pressuring hundreds of thousands of people crowded into U.N.-run shelters and family homes who had already heeded earlier evacuation orders issued in the north.
If Israeli troops move south, it is not clear where Gaza’s population can flee, as Egypt refuses to allow a mass transfer onto its soil. Read More

The censure of Rashida Tlaib, the Creole uprising, and the American Civil War
By Tom MacKaman
: Congress’ November 7 censure of Rep. Rashida Tlaib for her condemnation of Israel’s genocide against the Palestinians of Gaza—in a motion championed by none other than the fascist congresswoman from Georgia, Marjorie Taylor Greene—is a milestone in the decline of American democracy. Twenty-two Democrats joined the entire Republican delegation to denounce Tlaib. The facts of the genocide are not in dispute. It is being broadcast live, for all the world to see. High-ranking Israeli figures call Palestinians “animals,” demand the nuclear annihilation of Gaza, and invoke a new “Nakba” of forced dispossession for its 2 million residents, among other blood curdling statements. But, of course, Tlaib was not censured because of the facts. Her offense is that she dared to express sympathy for the Palestinians, a sentiment which runs counter to the aims of American imperialism. Read More

Palestinians sue Biden for failing to prevent genocide in Gaza
By Prem Thakker:
A group of Palestinian human rights organizations, residents of Gaza, and U.S. citizens with family members impacted by Israel’s ongoing assault jointly sued President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on Monday for failing to “prevent an unfolding genocide.”
The 89-page lawsuit, filed by the Center for Constitutional Rights in a California federal district court, traces 75 years of history and analyzes acts committed and rhetoric espoused by the Israeli government that exhibit a disregard for international law. It is accompanied by a declaration from a genocide expert who describes Israel’s actions as signs of genocide and argues that the Biden administration has breached its duty under international law to prevent it. Gaza: War on We, the People and Arab-Muslim’s Shame
by Dr Mahboob A Khawaja: Where is the so called International Humanitarian Law and the protocols of the Geneva Conventions offering protection to civilians in war against forced displacement, working of hospitals and medical professionals and supplies of unrestrained foods and other necessities for human survival? Well, these were written words in dried ink many decades ago and now subject to interpretation of political agenda manipulated and coerced by American politicians and Israeli leaders. In essence, the whole world has come to stand still and lingers on the whim of President Joe Biden and Israeli PM Netanyahu whatever they perceive of the International Humanitarian Law and the Geneva Conventions becomes a reference point. Religious framing of Israel’s massacres imperils millions
BY YUS
UF ZIYA DURMUŞ
: References  to prophecies, the Bible and the Torah flood the pro-Israel narrative in the Palestine-Israel conflict. Seeking justification for the massacre of civilians in the Palestinian territories, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu often invokes religion. No Abrahamic religion sanctions the atrocities Israel has engaged in the past month but for Netanyahu and his supporters, including those in the United States, this is almost a “holy war.”In the latest instance of his speech peppered with religious references on Oct. 30, Netanyahu claimed that the Bible says, “There is a time for peace and a time for war. This is a time for war,” as the death toll amid Palestinian civilians slaughtered in the Israeli attacks exceeded 10,000 since Oct. 7. Read More

Cruelty, power and forgetting
by Dr Richard Hil
:
Anyone with a heart will surely be aghast at what’s happening in the Middle East. The cruel slaughter of innocents, the destruction, the endless cycle of hate, recrimination and vengeance. Bearing witness to all this, day-in, day-out, is a grotesque reminder of the endgame that is more fear and loathing, and endless violence. There’s no respite in sight

Zionism: "Religiosity that deems killing children a virtue"
By Yasin Aktay

This uprising of conscience is becoming more vibrant each day, even more so than in Islamic countries. Read More

The Moral Bankruptcy of the ‘Amen Corner’
By Dr. Habib Siddiqui
:
The third Republican presidential debate once again showed the ugly side of the Republican candidates. When the rest of the world, including millions of Americans here in the US, are appalled by the brutality of the Israeli Occupation Forces in Gaza and condemning the apartheid state, these individuals were in a competition to score and prove their naked support for its ongoing  genocidal crimes.
“I’d be telling Bibi: Finish the job once and for all with these butchers,” Florida Governor DeSantis said, referring to the Israeli prime minister by his nickname. Read More

The US and Israel Agree: It's OK to Kill Thousands of Children
By  Norman Solomon
:
The governments of Israel and the United States are now in disagreement over how many Palestinian civilians it’s okay to kill. Last week—as the death toll from massive Israeli bombardment of Gaza neared 10,000 people, including
several thousand children—top U.S. officials began to worry about the rising horrified outcry at home and abroad. So, they went public with muted misgivings and calls for a “humanitarian pause.” But Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made clear that he would have none of it. Read More

Normalization with Israel 'still on the table': Saudi minister
Cradle

The Saudi Minister of Investment, Khalid bin Abdulaziz al-Falih,
conformed that the issue of normalizing relations between the kingdom and Israel is still on the table, but it is conditional on a peaceful solution to the Palestinian issue. Falih responded to a question about normalization in a discussion session at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum held in Singapore: “This matter was on the table, and it is still on the table, and it is clear that the recent withdrawal (from the talks) explains why Saudi Arabia is so determined to make a solution to the Palestinian conflict part of broader normalization in [West Asia].” Read More

Americans are trying to make Arabs do their dirty work...
By Yahya Bostan: Israel has not given up its "occupation and annexation plan" for Gaza. The issue of the transfer of Gazans to Egypt has been put on hold for now. Israel's current goal is to eliminate Hamas and create a buffer zone by dividing Gaza in the north. (Netanyahu will keep his soldiers in Gaza until the U.S. elections for his more advanced demands. If Trump is elected, many issues, including the exile of Gazans to Egypt, will be brought up again.) The U.S. supports the elimination of Hamas. It seems to have convinced Arab countries on this issue. Read More

Israel bombs three hospitals after Biden says “no prospect” of ceasefire
By Andre Damon
:
Israel
has bombed the al-Shifa Hospital complex, where tens of thousands are sheltering, with an experimental bladed missile, whose horrifying aftermath was shown in a widely shared video. The missile, believed to be an American Hellfire R9X, carried no explosives but dispersed blades throughout the area, slashing and amputating limbs and leaving pools of blood. Gaza’s al-Rantisi Children’s Hospital was also attacked, with Dr. Mostafa al-Kahlout telling Al Jazeera of a “massive fire” at the hospital, which is sheltering 1,000 refugees. The area surrounding the Indonesian Hospital was struck by 11 missiles, damaging its buildings, the hospital director said. Read More

Gaza reaction shows growing West-Global South rift
By JORGE HEINE
:
The lopsidedness was stark: 120 countries voted in favor of a resolution before the United Nations on October 26, 2023, calling for a “humanitarian truce” in the war in Gaza. A mere 14 countries voted against it.
But the numbers tell only half the story; equally significant was the way the votes fell. Those voting against the resolution included the United States and four members of the European Union. Meanwhile, about 45 members abstained – including 15 members of the EU, plus the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Japan. Seldom has the isolation of the West been so apparent. Now the Global South seems able to speak with, if not one voice, at least a chorus that is not discordant. Read More

How the War on Gaza Has Stalled the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC)
by Vijay Prashad
:
Israel’s war on the Palestinians in Gaza has changed the entire equation and stalled the IMEC. It is now inconceivable for Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to enter such a project with the Israelis. Public opinion in the Arab world is red-hot, with inflamed anger at the indiscriminate bombardment by Israel and the catastrophic loss of civilian life. Regional countries with close relations with Israel—such as Jordan and Turkey—have had to harden their rhetoric against Israel. In the short term, at least, it is impossible to imagine the implementation of the IMEC.
