The censure of Rashida Tlaib, the Creole uprising, and the American Civil War

Rashida Tlaib for her condemnation of Israel’s genocide against the Palestinians of Gaza—in a motion championed by none other than the fascist congresswoman from Georgia, Marjorie Taylor Greene—is a milestone in the decline of American democracy. Twenty-two Democrats joined the entire Republican delegation to denounce Tlaib. The facts of the genocide are not in dispute. It is being broadcast live, for all the world to see. High-ranking Israeli figures call Palestinians “animals,” demand the nuclear annihilation of Gaza, and invoke a new “Nakba” of forced dispossession for its 2 million residents, among other blood curdling statements. But, of course, Tlaib was not censured because of the facts. Palestinians sue Biden for failing to prevent genocide in Gaza

Anadolu Agency: The joint Arab-Islamic summit on Saturday urged the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to "complete investigation into war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Israel against Palestinians." In a communique copy of which was received by Anadolu, the summit mandates foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, Indonesia, and Nigeria to “start immediate international action” on behalf of the Arab-Islamic summit countries to “stop the war on Gaza and press for the launch of a serious and real political process to achieve lasting and comprehensive peace in accordance with the adopted international terms of reference.”

Israel bombs three hospitals after Biden says “no prospect” of ceasefire
By Andre Damon: Israel has bombed the al-Shifa Hospital complex, where tens of thousands are sheltering, with an experimental bladed missile, whose horrifying aftermath was shown in a widely shared video. The missile, believed to be an American Hellfire R9X, carried no explosives but dispersed blades throughout the area, slashing and amputating limbs and leaving pools of blood. Gaza’s al-Rantisi Children’s Hospital was also attacked, with Dr. Mostafa al-Kahlout telling Al Jazeera of a “massive fire” at the hospital, which is sheltering 1,000 refugees. Gaza reaction shows growing West-Global South rift
By JORGE HEINE: The lopsidedness was stark: 120 countries voted in favor of a resolution before the United Nations on October 26, 2023, calling for a “humanitarian truce” in the war in Gaza. A mere 14 countries voted against it. But the numbers tell only half the story; equally significant was the way the votes fell. Those voting against the resolution included the United States and four members of the European Union.
